MGF MY2000 1.8mpi
About Me
I spent my working life, over 40 years, as a salesman (used to get called the traveller which made me feel as though I should be 'travelling' in ladies underwear)! Don't even go there!
So when I retired it was time to go back to my first love. MG motor cars.
Interests
My beloved MGF. Check out the pictures in the gallery. I had MG's when I was younger but, the usual story, work, company car, family, lifestyle etc made it impractical to have another classic British sports car - until now. The last MG I owned was a 1275cc Midget in 1967. She was Trafalgar Blue and I still miss her.
My new (well new to me) obsession is my MY2000 Gold MGF 1.8mpi called Hermes.

Hermes - messenger of the Gods, protector & patron of travellers.
Hermes was the winged messenger of the Gods and was also protector and patron of travellers!
It seemed appropriate then given that he (the car) corners as if on rails and is fleet of foot that I should name him Hermes (yes him - why not. If there weren't any boy cars you couldn't have girl cars).
This was achieved by a convoluted process of thought (?)!
His reg ends in JPG , and the obvious would have been JPEG, but there is one so named already. So I thought 'Jean Paul Gaultier', what perfumes does he make that would provide a good name?
Answer none!
However, 'JPG' has an association with Hermes so I thought that will do and Hermes he became.
